He won champion 2YO colt in Canada in '05, but I assume you want some 2006 information. Don't have any up to date 2006 info.

No, that info is awesome!

He's from the same female line as my mare so I've been keeping a watch on him.
I hadn't heard anything in a while so was fearing 'bad things.'

From the OJC (Woodbine) website regarding the Queen's Plate:

The locals are led by Edenwold (8-1), a Southern Halo colt who was strong through the summer last year, winning the Colin, Vandal and the Simcoe Stakes at Woodbine en route to his Sovereign title.

The chestnut is trained by Josie Carroll for Jim and Alice Sapara. Most of the Carroll shedrow, including Edenwold, spent the winter in California.

Edenwold did more than win The Queens Plate today - he fought a real battle to have that win and displayed enormous heart to wrest it away at the end from the very determined Sterwins....WOW - that was one heck of an effort by both horses right down to the wire!

It's nice to have an Ontario bred win the Queen's Plate, and Josie Caroll is also the first woman to win the Plate as well.
