Interesting Occurrence

Postby wilf » Thu Oct 05, 2006 12:00 pm

Last tuesday at Fort Erie races in the 7th race Drakensberg ran and was claimed, then 2 races later Far and Near ran and was claimed; this in itself does not appear to be out of the ordinary but for the fact that they are both out of the mare Close at Hand by Mt Livermore. I guess the dam was having a garage sale. Funnily enough I have another sibling, Near the Lake , in the 3rd race on Sunday so should I expect an empty stall afterwards??

Yes and finally it looks like we will have a good track to race on. I have had her entered twice before but scratched due to the track conditions.

Well it was a glorious afternoon here at Fort Erie and the big mare romped home as the 2nd choice. What a nice family for any breeder to link up to, she won for $7500 today but was entered cheaper before and I shall be looking to run once more before the meet closes at the end of this month.

Congrats wilf - nice to have a mare/horse live up to your belief in their ability and do so "romping home"....Carrots all around the barn (and something of a more fitting "human" salute for you!)
