The horses here at Woodbine come back start back Feb 1st (i know i couldn't imagine it!! Bloody Cold) I will keep you posted on it. The one thing i do know is that it is to be maintanance free and they had to water it and do a lot of working up of the materials?? They brought in every expert under the sun - those who developed it etc.. I think Woodbine is a bit of a guinea pig so to speak. There as well were a ton of break down/knee injurys right after it was put in - we counted 7. Unlike dirt there is no sliding so you would jar more i think if taking a bad step.. softer on landing but joints??

Wax/heat
As far as i know no it doesn't but Woodbine didn't have it until end of Aug so the heat is not as intense as it would be in july.. I was in Kentucky a few summers ago and it was over 100 deg. it was end of June we went to look at a training track at i believe Juddmont & they liked it .. it was a nice consistency i walked on it and picked it up in my hand etc. They would probably be a good one to ask as they have had it for a while.
