Well ,
I can agree with you o the Doctor Reid part for sure. He came and talk to us harness folk at the yearling sale , and didn't bother to change his speech he had given to the tb owners and trainer's. He was talking about spring training in Calgary will be a go . We were all standing there thinking well thats nice we are in Edmonton. Also being an hour late and delaying the start of our sale. :? . I just have being seeing all of this limbo affecting everything. Yearlings were not selling like they should because people were reluctant to buy without knowing the future right now. All of our stakes ar getting jammed into the Edmonton meet. Which leaves your lower level horses out in the cold. Then at least for us there is the Grand Prarie fun extended meet.Nobosy wants to really do it , and no one wants to send there good horses to a B track. It woul be nice for a just someone just being straight forward and honest and really tell us what is going on . Right now there is a lot that hangs in the balance. All I can see everytime I drive by balzac is a lot of dirt pushing. The same thing that has been going on for a year. At what time do all the horseman get together and say enough.
I have to disagree on the stampede notion though. I know both TB and STB guys have complaind about that track for as long as I can remember. But some racing is better then no racing isn't it. I am just hoping that they give us something soon. I would think with a lot of the big owners involved that we would have some notion as to whats going on. By the looks of things it is not going to be ready by spring 2008 . So what happends then? These are the questions the HRA really has to answer.

The only real news their is that they finally got the water license. Talking with a friend of mine last week who knows the guy in charge of the shopping mall part of the project, the water license was the only hold up. Have to wait and see. There is an HBPA meeting on Mar. 20 where there is suppose to be an update given to the horsemen on the status of the project.
