yeah i almost suggested it, but realised it attracts a similar type of horse to the arc, I also didn't want two from the same country

To be honest the best spectacle that I attended and had the most fun was the Kanyapella Kup Picnic Races on a glorious day in Northern Victoria close to the River Murray. Restricted to grass fed horses < supposedly> with 4 heats and then the Kup final for the first two placegetters in each heat.You could also have a bet with the bookmakers on the interstate races and listen to the call over the land line. Great atmosphere, food and weather with the track being a dog-leg shape bulldozed out of a wheatfield for the day. Made a few hundred $ and went home happy.
