Rome might be burning, Dray, but to leave the entire load on the hormone issue is incorrect. Take into account that horse's worth sometimes becomes too great to stay in training. People love to end careers on a high note such that stud or breeding value are at it's highest. Surface changes, Training and breeding differences. Inbreeding of any sort is bad for anything. I am happy that my great great grandpa isn't on both of my parent's lineage. I'm thrilled that more horses don't have 2 heads. The more in or line breeding that happens, IMO.. the weaker the breed.. though I am no expert.
