I agree, I get so tired of good horses being forced to run beyond their maturity or distance preference for their connections' ego. They suffer injury or burnout, when they could be great horses later in the summer/fall. If they are ready and fit the races, so be it...I would like to see a little more reality from some of these pushing the contenders, though.
No shame in the Travers, Jockey Club Gold Cup, Goodwood, BC Classic, Ancient Title, Whitney, Woodward, Forego, etc.

I know, if he's good enough they will make him a late nomination. I wanted him for my Road to the Roses stable since he is due to run in the Sham Stakes next, but you can't pick him if he is not nominated.
As for not pushing him, seems like they have not been pushing him--they gave him five starts to break his maiden. Seems like many other trainers would have moved him to another track or surface long before five races. I don't think Eoin Harty is known for pushing them.
