I think Galileo's colt Cape Blanco is worth a look.

Arc is likely to see a full field (currently 20) this year..1 more than last year..in the last 5 years the smallest field is 8 (2006).

Workforce will be among them...source said this after his workout satisfaction.

Such credentials will always short change a wholehearted support...given a competitive field.

Fame and Glory draws stall 1..planteur 7, workforce 8, behkabad 9, cape blanco 11, Younzaim 12, lope de vega 13...the
german wiener walzer 6....filly sarafina 3, plumania 15.

Cape Blanco vs J Murtagh vs K Fallon ? Timos (stall 14) was close 2nd in his last 2 outings(12f), of which one was won
by Duncan (draw 16, william Buick), whose father is noneotherthan the 2003 Arc winner, Cartier HOY Dalakhani.

Frankie Dettori saddles Calvaryman (draw 4). Saaed Bin Suroor will probably have 1 more year to wait.

The japanese filly, Victorie Pisa was 3rd in the coveted Japan Derby and the winner of their 2000 guineas. Yutaka Take is
likely to be in the front group crossing the tape aboard her. She draws 5. A value bet at 40/1.

Behkabad is still the favorite, at 7/2.

3 yo : 8
4 yo : 6
5 yo : 5
7 yo : 1

The roughest race for years - what a disgrace.

OK, winner and runner-up were not involved. But with a clear run for both the Aga-Khan-horses the result may have been different on the first two places.

Was anyone disciplined or fined over this?

Watching this, I am impressed (again) with how well other countries know how to show a race on tv. American tv has hardly changed how they cover a race since the 1960s. The horses always seem far away, and the running is almost always silent.

Sigh.

Yes, Planteur was disciplined - he was disqualified from 7th to last place.

Sounds a bit strange, doesn't it, because there were only 5 places with prize-money?

I watched the complete Longchamp-Meeting via EQUIDIA - the French racing-tv - and it was a great show all the day. Not even coverage of the races, but summarizing previews, interviews of "people in the business" and visitors and some views in areas "normal" spectators can't get.

Magnifique!

Except for specialty channels associated with gambling, racing is largely gone from American tv screens. Most people know next to nothing about racing because of this. What does show up is frequently dreadful and cringeworthy.

Zenyatta's race on Saturday got some brief coverage, but unless you're a serious fan, you would have missed it. :!:
