I would not go so far as to describe Brother Derek's Ky Derby post as a lose lose situation. I do sense though that he did not draw a particularly good post (all things considered)...and would have been in a much better position to use a bit less gas at the outset (and maybe even well into the race) if he had drawn a post that's more (maybe much more) toward the inside than the outside.
Arguably he will be tested like never before...and it will be interesting to see where he is when turning for home, and what he has left for the stretch run. Who knows, Brother Derek might prove to be a superhorse and blow them all away, regardless of post.
I suggest that we might be in store for a very interesting and potentially very exciting horserace. I expect to see one heck of a stretch run.
