Yes, I recall seeing you with the colt when he was a yearling at the sales barn at Saratoga. Several of us were wandering around, turned a corner, and there he was. We decided to follow him throughout his career. If you haven't see him in the flesh since then I am anxious to see what you think of him when you do. With me that day at the sales was my 72 year old mother. She now has a scrapbook on the colt and a framed picture of Mr. Fantasy sticking his nose in her face. This is serious : )

Two-turn test Mr. Fantasy's best option
The connections of Mr. Fantasy have resorted to Plan C for the promising 3-year-old's second start.
Mr. Fantasy will make his next start in a first-level allowance race for New York-breds going 1 1/16 miles Sunday at Aqueduct. It will be the seventh race on the card.
Mr. Fantasy, a New York-bred son of E Dubai and a half-brother to Tin Cup Chalice, wowed observers with an effortless 10 1/2-length debut victory on Dec. 28, running six furlongs in 1:10.51 and earning a gaudy 97 Beyer Speed Figure. The plan was to keep the colt sprinting for his second start, and a first-level allowance race for New York-breds carded for last Wednesday seemed the ideal spot. But that card was canceled due to inclement weather.
As a back-up, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin entered Mr. Fantasy in Saturday's six-furlong Dancing Count Stakes at Laurel Park. But, McLaughlin really didn't want to ship the horse or run him in a stakes in his second start.
The hope was that Wednesday's canceled race would be brought back. It was, only the distance was changed to 1 1/16 miles, the same distance as the $250,000 Gotham Stakes on March 7, a race McLaughlin hopes Mr. Fantasy proves worthy of entering.
"The thought process is if we're going to look at the Gotham why not go a mile and a sixteenth now against New York-breds instead of six [furlongs] and win by eight, and then you still don't know'' about distance, McLaughlin said Friday from south Florida. "If we go long Sunday, he gets the experience of running long once against a lesser group.''
The draw was unkind to Mr. Fantasy as he will break from post 10. But McLaughlin hopes the colt's speed will enable him to clear the field and gain a favorable position entering the first turn. Richard Migliore will ride Mr. Fantasy.
"He's a very talented horse and I think Richie does a good job with these kind,'' McLaughlin said. "If he does take the lead, he'll settle him down, slow him down, and hopefully coast along.''

Hi Folks,
El Camino - Congratulations. Mr. Fantasy proved a lot today. He went 2 turns, faced better competition, a larger field (10 horses), won with a new jockey and he could not have been more professional. Watch the heads-on replay and Mr. Fantasy keeps as straight a course through the stretch as is possible. Like in Tin Cup Chalice, Mr. Fantasy has excellent balance and he gains several on the field feet turning for home and he can finish his races.
After watching Mr. Fantasy's video work from the Midlantic 2yo sale (last year) I mentioned to El Camino that his stride was nearly identical to his brother (Tin Cup's stride was discussed earlier in this thread). He's a larger version of his older sibling, less nimble but highly athletic. I don't know that he will have Tin Cup's facile ability to run to the lead but he is more powerful. Both have extraordinary balance and they turn over their stride quickly.
As El Camino mentioned, West Point is pointing Mr. Fantasy towards the Gotham and I think that's a good proving ground for him. We should know what his mettle is after the race and we hope that he'll be a legitimate 3yo contender.
El Camino, you forgot Incurable Optimist (sire of Don Corleone) as one of Twice Forbidden's mates who was a New York stallion (at the time).
BDW, I don't believe that A.P. Indy, Distorted Humor or Unbridled's Song connections will change their mind off a nice allowance win and want to do a foal share. Without a deep pedigree they're of the mind that the resulting foal will lack Select Sale credentials. I've impressed on them that the mare could have 2 active graded performers in 2009 and perhaps 2010 so that a foal to be sold in 2011 would then have a pedigree worthy of any Select Sale but their attitude will continue to be that Mr. Fantasy is a nice state-bred until proven otherwise.
It's quite a story and I'm thrilled for El Camino and pleased that so many people are enjoying the ride. May Twice Forbidden's brood continue their success.

I was not aware he was doing a foal share, I thought he was dishing out cash and they just flat out said no. i can see their stance on not wanting to do a foal share, they have no problem filling books with people who will pay full price. Why take an unwarranted risk?
