Okay-
With inflation we would be talking about 10 million...10.3 to be closer to the truth...
That is interesting

Keep in mind the owners were quite rich to begin with and it wouldn't be the last chance they have to sell her plus she is insured. Maybe it does maximize the amount of money they could make on her by selling her now thus making perfect business sense, but for me I'd take the life experiences that I would always remember and cherish. You gotta give JJ credit there,he knows he's an old man and you can't take it with you, so what if he pays too much, he's had a ball with Curlin and he's about to have alot more fun now.

I wuld not call m orrison "quite rich" unless I'm missing something. he's the president of a steel company in alabama. i'm sure he's quite well off. but being well off is not necessarily quite rich.

Interestingly enough he sold YOU as a 2YO right before she really got good

Well one guy already sold half of her for 1.5mil plus still owned the other half and the other guy had enough money to go out buy half a racehorse for 1.5mil so I'm pretty comfortable with my word usage.

This is why racing needs a Czar or Commisioner. This story needs to get out there to hype this race NOW not just during the telecast of the race. The Commish could be be busy promoting this race, getting all the involved parties booked on the morning shows, talk shows etc. America loves soap operas and this is a great one!

How about the equine Rodney Dangerfield Mine that Bird, wouldn't it be a hoot if he goes and wins the Triple Crown now.

Realize that in the US the chances of a horse finishing thusly ever being tested is just about zilch, except of the premier events where every horse is tested. It's amazing to me how rare it is for the track vet to select a favorite who finished out of the money or way back for testing in addition to testing the unlikely winner, even though I believe in most jurisdictions they have that option.

Carlvin I beieve he does not believe MTB is a triple crown prospect afterall. MTB hype will be stopped at Preakness.

With Borel committing to RA who gets on MTB? I can only think of one jock who would fit him like a glove but he's already committed to Pioneer Of The Nile. That's Garrett Gomez.
