karen -- People coming from SoCal would be traveling up I-80 going north. They would exit on Gibson Avenue, and that's a left turn into GGF.

Gilman--and that is the scariest unprotected intersection I've ever used. They don't believe in lights in Berkeley. :D

GGF to go to three days a week upon return in August.

From the article:

Hartman said officials are scouting for a new track site in the East Bay Area. Because of the difficulty of finding such a site, he said afterward that a new track could be located as far away as Sacramento. "Frank Stronach is committed to racing in Northern California," Hartman said in reference to The Stronach Group, which now owns Golden Gate Fields. "He has told me that personally."

We'll see. Frank says a lot of things. The best thing in that article was that they will raise purses.

Raise purses and cut the stakes, I think that's just dum. A meet with not one stakes race! Im glad Mr Harris stood up to the fact.
