Allen Jerkens story:
He once had a horse (Clean 'Em Up) that just didn't want to train. He'd freeze before leaving the gap, stand still on the track, wouldn't do anything - the horse just didn't want to run. Mr Jerkens got an idea:
For three or four straight days, he dressed the horse up every morning, let it go to the gap with the rest of the set, but he told the exercise kid to just say there with the horse while the other horses ran around. Then when Clean 'Em Up saw the other horses running around to just lead him back to the barn.
After the third day, the horse got so mad that it bit, kicked, stomped, you name it.
The horse then started to train and won its next start.
That kind of genius just isn't found, and that's why The Chief is THE BEST!

If the horse was talentless or unsound... really unsound... he'd be on a stallion roster somewhere. Purchase price alone and the apparent speed would ensure a decent fee.

this colt is in very good hands this colt is going to be a major stakes winner, and I have no doubt about that.just wanted to put my 2 cents in this.

Hiya Rok,
How ya doin? I do believe that was noted (handily) in my original post, I noticed all others were breezing too--but didn't think it was important to announce it. You been around, it's his first serious move over 5 furlongs in who knows how long. He was moving along at a decent clip, probably got a bit tired and needed some coaxing to finish.
Next week will surely tell the tale of the "butt", if he makes his scheduled work next Sunday I would think his "butt" troubles are "behind" him :>) TJ

Just to make a point here. I'm assuming we are all glad that the Green Monkey is healthy enough to be breezing regularly, and that even although he cost too much money, no-one wants to make some kind of point by having him injured.
I would be happy to see him make it to the racecourse and be successful, not because of Sheiks or Coolmore or money or politics, but because he's a horse, and a nice one by all accounts.
Let's not confuse the horse with his connections.

Hi Geo,
Well stated and I absolutely agree with you, it's always about the health and well being of the horse--his price tag be it $16 or $16 million has nothing to do with it. TJ
