well rok that's because when it comes to fillies, the west side is the best side 8)

you could field the breeders cup distaff, for the most part, with SoCal fillies. You'd get at least 8 or 9

Hysterical Lady
Balance
Nashoa's Key
(what is that fillie that Ron Ellis' hot daughter comes to see everytime she races and got beat in the stakes race on the 3.2mil hollywood carryover?)
The horse that won that grade 2 the same night of the cash call mile
On a good day, without Solis :) on her back, Silver Swallow is one of the better fillies in the country, on any surface.

where else... Not to mention panty raid, who is actually my 3rd fav filly dispute pletcher... even though she isn't based out there.. she won a grade 1 out there so I'm throwing her in damnit

And if Magnificance is 95% healthy, she's the best filly in the country

You REALLY need to learn how to spell that mare's name, boyo.

Additionally, how anyone could claim a horse who HAS NOT EVEN STARTED THIS YEAR, has only 2 starts to her credit and a nothing win in the Santa Paula can be counted amoungst the elite in her division is beyond me.

You are the textbook definition of a fanboy, BD. The enthusiasm is charming... sort of... but the alarming display of ignorance about the industry is not.

okay, seriously maven, don't jerk my chain like that.

And what's so funny about that? Do you think you have the pedigree insight to say Pulpit has no shot as a sire of sires or do you take issue with Lady Be Good blood? Either way, you're looking rather uneducated when it comes to pedigrees.

My mistake.. she has run this year. I forgot the Santa Paula was for 3yos.

As for Folk and Tiago... I keep telling myself to leave the puppy alone -- he's only 24yo. I thought I knew it all at 24, too. At 25, I realized I didn't know shit.

He does remind me, daily, why I never dated guys in their 20s... not even when I was in mine. I can barely stand guys in their 30s. Most of them still haven't figured out they aren't in HS anymore.

How about a little credit for Miss Shop today? In her 24th start as a four year old, she ran the BEST race of her career today and stamped herself as a legit BC Distaff filly. Allen Jerkens is AMAZING - nobody keeps horses going the way he does and wins Grade 1s with stock that other trainers wouldn't even want. The guy is in a class by himself - and always has been. Don't count her out if he runs her.

Well, i'm not as kind. I'm 24 as well. The cheerleading has it's place, just not EVERY DAY and for the most absurd reasons.

eeeeeeeeh.. I don't think Pulpit's going to make it as a sire of sires either. Part of that is my own overriding biased against the nag.

If Tapit makes it as a sire, it won't be because of Pulpit, it'll be because of his female family. I really don't think Sky Mesa will last and I've not seen much else from Pulpit to be impressed by.

You know, I'm still having problems processing that.

Corinthian (especially), Purge, Essence of Dubai, and Grade 1 Sightseeing (after tomorrow). I think he's got some live prospects out there.

Stock nobody wants??? Are you kidding me! A Deputy Minister filly who's 3rd dam is Lady Be Good??!! That's top of the line no matter how you slice it! That good Monarchos filly from a few years back, Fifth Avenue, is out of a half to Miss Shop. Young branch of Lady Be Good really taking off.

Miss Shop is a pint sized runt without any speed....most trainers would have given up on her as a two year old.

I'm going to agree with Rok, Pulpit has some very interesting sons out there.

I refuse to discount Sky Mesa because of his bottom line (Busanda). You have Corinthian who has every right to be a top stallion with the bottom line. You can add Tapit to the list of amazing female families who are known sire producers (his foals have looked GREAT too). Essence of Dubai has some of the best foals i've seen in Florida this past year.

Now, how much of it is Pulpit? Who knows. I just have a gut feeling. I think we'll see something special out of him. You have a biased against, I have a bias for with that family behind him.

The same was said about you, but we're keeping you around! In all seriousness, she's been too consistent since two to give up on. She more than pays the bills in almost every start.

Well, Chekhov didn't help matters. LOL!

Corinthian is as good as Claiborne gets. When you see Special in the family, something Special could pop up!

Fifth Avenue was a flash in the pan that Mark Hennig broke down after 4 or 5 starts. Please!
