Are you kidding Im counting on it.
I have a bad feeling that RA isnt going to do as well as she did last time. She not undefeated.
Its been a nagging sensation and the next sensation that nags is Musket Man.

I personally don't understand this deification of Borel. He's just an average jockey. How many 'leading rider' titles has he won? I'd rather have Prado or Gomez any day.

In the end, it's the horse that is the main factor in winning or losing a race, IMO.

{that's my two cents}

Probably because Gomez has never had a Kentucky oaks winner and a Kentucky Derby winner in Two days. It is the horse that does matter, but if you look at the way Calvin rode MTB, Calvin made a huge difference.

Calvin

Anybody but Calvin up on MTB and he does well to finish in the top 10. This horse was on noone's radar. You'll see in the Preakness when someone other than Calvin is in the irons.

Calvin made the right choice in RA.

Actually, MTB WAS on several peoples radar, including mine. IMHO, Calvin is the one who was lucky he got to be on MTB. How many others in that race do you think he could have taken that far back, after getting slammed at the start, and had enough horse left to come up like that? Dont get me wrong, I love Calvin, I think he is a great jockey, and it was a great ride, but he didnt piggy back MTB across the line  it is a hard choice to pick who wins with RA in it, so again we will have a very fun race, just like the KY :D I think either RA is as great as people say and wins easily, but since she has never had to try, who knows, or starting against the boys for the 1st time in a classic race, with more horses than she usually races against, uummhh, I go with karenKaren, I just dont see her winning this one. If she had any experience racing the boys before this, I say she wins, but not this preakness :) She looks so incredible, I hate to say she wont win, but I just have this feeling she wont, or, I suspect she will be scratched just before, and headed to the belmont, where she will have much more her type of race layed out, at least that we know of so far, no trouble or traffic type, that she has had to this point.

While MTB was not on my radar (hell hardly any winner is lol I suck! ) He may have been if I had just watched his workout vids on youtube. Yeah Calvin saw an opportunity and snagged it, but the horse he is on HAS closing kick... heck turn that up a notch to fantastic closing kick! In the videos I watched , MTB is started out looking more like a dressage horse collected sloooooow canter to eventually ending as a little turbo jet streaking down the track. So that horse is used to taking his time smelling the roses and then tapping warp speed. (Okay so a slight exaggeration  ) Good job walaa in "seeing" the potential!!
trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while. :)

Calvin might have screwed himself out of a Preakness mount.. POYN owner Zayet, MTB owner and Marylou Whitney are all entering extra horses for the Preakness in order to eliminate RA as a supplemental nominee by filling the field with a full twenty head..

no, allan said he wants his jockey back. one of the reasons he's doing it is to get calivin back. He's nothing without calvin. he's codependant

Yeah but Im sure that there would be alot of people out there that would do the same thing. Esp if they have a chance at the Tripple Crown.
I give that man kudos.
To anyone out there, What would you do for a good rider to ride your horse succesfully in races like these?
What if you won the Derby with a horse that you didnt think would win?

it's not like if calvin doesn't ride they have to get a 10 pound bug rider or something. mike smith is a damn good jockey and probably is honestly a better one outside of churchill.

50 to 1 shot comes home. I want to like the little fella. and just when all of the things come together for horse racing to gain some momentium in the public eye, we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with this crap.

True Bdw- True...
Im sorry I didnt mean to offend you. Actually I was trying to post it towards everyone.
My personal opinion, which never matters anyway, I really do not like the approach the Jackson has towards RA. I think hes doing this for his and his partners, trainers profit, and messing with the MTB Tripple Crown Pic. Yes I know that RA is a great/good horse, but to put a choice like this to Borel, it bothers me.
MTB story is very good and the story behind RA is a good one too. Now we have Jackson and co who is well off owners owning another good horse because they can throw alot of money around just to get into the headlines.
What about the little people? The story makers? Has Horse Racing become the rich getting richer?
Again- this isnt projected towards you.. its just how I feel.
