There was a day when the Hancocks took sport into consideration as well. An argument could be made that keeping him in training keeps him on the breeding / sales radar screen, especially if they tried an aggressive campaign like Dubai World Cup. Even if they lost a year - and maybe a little bit of luster, Arch would remain in the headlines - and the value of each could have been enhanced. Blame has been a quality runner, winning a couple of G1s, but by no means could be classified as great. Racing him another year gives them a chance to reach that level - or predictably, they can just run to the breeding shed.

I doubt that people break down the doors to get to him though. I would go to Arch who is proven.

You could go to the proven Arch or the still-young Rock Hard Ten for less than Blame. He won the big prize and he's got a real humdinger of a female family...otherwise, why bother when there are cheaper options available?
