I like your check list Pete..and must ad that having been stabled at many tracks I realised quite fast that if 1200 horses at stabled there and only 3-400 go out in the morning someone is saving money there...Many times I was the only one getting all her horses out everyday...And there are still many who breeze on saturday and avoid 2-3 days of gallop boy after that and same after a race...Where mine gallop "everyday" considering if they are at the track,they are sound to race so should be conditionned for it and owners pay every day...don't they?
The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...

I don't know that every horse needs a kid up every day but a trainer with integrity will do it for those that do.
