GSV Meets Saturday June 17, 2006
GSV above 74.50; All Types of Races
Churchill Downs
Race 1: Ester's Big Band = 75.12: 4th of 7
Race 5: Just As Well = 78.10: 4th of 10
Race 7: Cielo Gold = 75.82: 5th of 6

Arlington
Race 2: Deep Springs = 75.61: 1st of 6: $12.60
Race 5: High Octane = 80.22: 5th of 9
Race 7: Suaviter = 75.27: 1st of 7: $7.20

Woodbine
Race 7: Marion County = 77.40: 14th of 14

Belmont
None qualified

Hollywood
Race 3: South Of Broad = 75.99: 1st of 9: $12.00
Race 4: A.P. Warrior = 74.50: 2nd of 5

Only 9 races at the major tracks I looked at had a horse with a GSV above 74.5 [The standard of success in every [913] English Maiden Races of 2004 with my updated GSV scores].

There were 3 winners, 1 second, 2 fourths, 2 fifths, and a 14th. The profit was $13.80 with a $2 unit of bet.

I realize this was a one day situation, but maybe, it's worth pursuing.

Best, George

Hi George, thanks for posting.

I looked at the conditions of the races, and it appears to me the GSV handicapping has a very nice strike rate on non-maiden races a mile and above, regardless of class. This is just my opinion, and the way *I* interpret the results. Others my see them differently. I have compiled your results for the last couple of weeks to spread out the sample.

This is not to say the angle is no good for maidens, I think the problem is most maidens run the first couple of times in short races, and since the GSV is more a stamina favoring figure, it does not fairly measure a horses ability for sprints.

Again, this is just my opinion. I thank you again for your work. It has helped me to feel comfortable when to use GSV as a viable tool.

Regards,
Colonel

Good reasoning, Colonel.
