Derbyshire Racing - 5% Shares Available in Choristar

Postby davethehorse » Fri Jul 07, 2006 3:27 am

Our racing syndicate based near Derby, UK has a few 5% shares available in our horse CHORISTAR, a 5 year old chestnut gelding by Inchinor out of Star Tulip (Night Shift).

Pedigree Details:

http://www.pedigreequery.com/choristar

We purchased him for 9000 guineas at the Tattersalls Horses in Training sales at Newmarket in October 2005. Although a maiden, he has been placed 7 times over various distances (6f-1m) and will now be stepped up in trip to 1m2f+ over which we think his future lies. He is well handicapped and ready to start winning races.

He will also be schooled over hurdles this year and could well make up into a useful dual purpose horse (flat and jump racing).

Our website is www.derbyshireracing.co.uk

Costs for a 5% share are £250 upfront plus £50 per month to cover all training and racing costs, which is as cheap as you will find anywhere in the UK.

Benefits include:

Share of all prize money won
Genuine ownership registered with the British Horseracing Board
Free racecourse entry owners badge
Stable visits to suit each owner
Social functions
Competitions
Weekly email updates and web updates
Google Group message forum
Snippets of stable info

Choristar is trained by JOHN MACKIE at Church Broughton, South Derbyshire, an astute dual purpose trainer with terrific facilities.

If anyone is interested and/or would like a no obligation stable visit drop me an email at:

3rd by about a half length at 7/1 having been backed early doors.

Just as well Fantasy Crusader was withdrawn at the start

I think he looks hard to win with, no wins from 21 starts, but John Mackie is capable of winning with such a horse if it is sufficiently resolute.

Good luck.

Hi Pierre,

Thanks for the comments.

It was a great run from our horse yesterday. In what was to prove a very exciting finish for us, Choristar came from what looked an impossible position turning into the home straight to produce an extremely encouraging performance under a stylish ride from Nelson de Souza. A good 10 lengths down turning in, he began picking them off in front one by one and in the final furlong quickened again to go down by just a neck and 1/2l.

Those that saw the race on TV will probably have noticed that Choristar twice met with interference down the far side turn, just before the uphill climb. This gave Nelson no choice but to sit and wait as they came downhill into the straight but he didn’t panic and rode a great race in the end, making up a lot of ground and switching the horse the outside. Choristar responded in fantastic fashion, running on and quickening well, really coming with a late rattle and giving us all a thrilling finish. In fact it looked like Nelson struggled to pull him up after the race!

There were loads of positives to take out of the race:

1) We know he stays 1m2f well and it looked like further would not be a problem to him

2) He has a great attitude, is game, genuine and courageous

3) This run gives us confidence that if he jumps OK, a 2m trip over hurdles should not be a problem

4) He has the ability to really quicken coming from off the pace

John was really pleased with the run and with respect to the future we have a horse to look forward to, both the flat and jumps.

If anyone is interested in joining us take a look at our website www.derbyshireracing.co.uk or email [email protected] - perhaps you would like to join me on the gallops next Saturday morning, no obligation, to see the horse working.

Hello Jordan,

Thanks for the enquiry - I will send you some info by email later, together with some photos of Choristar.

All UK horseraces are shown on satallite TV - some are free to air and some are subscription only. Not sure if these are available in Oregon though. The channels are called At The Races (ATR) and RacingUK.

If you are thinking of joining, with seeing the horse run being the major issue, I could mail you videos on DVD or upload video clips to the interenet for download.

The horse has come out of his race very well and should be running before the end of August.

Will be in touch.

Cheers,

Dave

Choristar lost his maiden tag at Beverley about 10 days ago and was a very unlucky loser at Warwick on Monday, losing by a head after meeting loads of trouble in running.

We are delighted with him an he looks to be improving for the increase in trip - well worth following his fortunes both on the flat and over hurdles later this year.

See www.derbyshireracing.co.uk for latest news.

We have now aquired our second syndicate horse SUNBOLT, a 3 year old gelding by Barathea.

He has been bought to go jumping and is expected to make his debut for us in December.

Shares are available in him priced £550 per 5% share plus monthlies of £70 to include all training and racing expenses.

The horse went to Wolverhampton on Friday for a racecourse gallop with the 80 rated Kingdom of Dreams and worked very impressively, ridden by the trainer. He has schooled like a natural over hurdles at home and we are very excited about his prospects.

Here is his pedigree link:

http://www.pedigreequery.com/sunbolt

He has a lovely pedigree, full of quailty, with jumping lines on the dam side.

Email me at [email protected] for further info - last 20% remaining.
