Declan's Moon

Postby Barbaro06 » Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:04 pm

Declan's Moon was eased as the field rounded the far turn in the Pat O' Brien. There is the possibility that he bled.

Hope he is OK...

I will ask about the condition of DM on Monday, as he is stabled at SA.

He just never looked like he was all that comfortable to me from the get go today....watching on HRTV - not like he was injured physically but stressed and reluctant. I hope he's OK....

DM is sound and his vet is checking him out to see what the problem was.

DM was not injured in his race.

I was at Del Mar yesterday, & made a point to go to the paddock before races #6 (Declan's Moon) & #8 - The Pacific Classic. What a thrill to watch these beautiful horses up-close! Anyway, Declan''s Moon was giving them a heckuva time in the paddock - acting up like crazy! All eyes were focused on him as they took him away from the rest & tried to put (or adjust?) the tongue tie on him. He was havine none of it! Kicking like all get out & just generally making a fuss. I wasn't surprised he finished as he did. But they said he was "eased-up." Anyone have any further info on his condition? Someone posted here that he was bleeding, but I really don't know. Just want to make sure he's ok!!!

Thanks, Louis!! I just posted something about him - & here you've already posted a reply! Great work!! So glad to hear he's doing ok. Maybe he just had a bad day, & didn't want to run!?

They just announced on TVG that Declan's Moon is suffering from a lung infection, and is being treated with antibiotics. No wonder he didn't want to run yesterday!!!

Drat! Well I wouldn't want to run too if my lungs were clogged up with gunk. Or as my sister puts it so delicately...lung butter! Yewww!
