Great memory of The Fog . . . . . . .

Postby Tairaterces » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:18 am

My favorite and best memory of Lost in the Fog was when we my brother Rick and I went to see him in the Golden Bear Breeders Cup at Golden Gate Fields. We had seen him at Bay Meadows also but the experience @GG is permanently etched in my mind.

We had just watched the race previous to Foggy's, the other horses were being lead from the track when all of a sudden the fog started rolling in fast and the sun disappeared. It was kind of eerie . . .but real cool too. To our right we were watching for The Fog to come onto the track and when he did the fog started to roll back out and by the time he got to the saddling paddock the fog was gone and the sun was brightly shining and did so for the rest of the day. It was like God decided to create a dramatic entrance for his Lost in the Fog . . . . . . .

I know that Lost in the Fog will always be remembered because of his wonderful 3yo racing season culminating into an Eclipse award for Best Sprinter of 2005. And he always gave his best in all of his races.

I do wish that he could have passed on his heart and determination to his progeny . . . . but God wants him back now . . . . . . I wish I knew why . . . . . but I haven't figured that out yet and maybe never will . . . . . . I do know that he will always be in my heart.

Awesome story. I was there too and remember that vividly. And all he did is go on and set a track record if i'm not mistaken.
