Mizzen Her

Postby ZiaLand » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:00 pm

Just found out Africa's half-sis, Mizzen Her (Mizzen Mast x Met Her Dream), won her first out . I'm at work and can't research. Does anyone happen to have a resource handy to find out where and when she ran?

Much thanks. :D

She won at Northlands Park, going 5 and 1/2 furlongs, on July 9th.

Does anybody else find that name adorable? Mizzen Her. Gotta say I prefer that word play to some of the others we've heard.

Thanks LSB. :D

Heidilady, yeah I agree on the name. I knew about the Mizzen Mast filly, but didn't know she'd been named. Guess it's time to update my reports again, and get her in my virtual stable.

She's entered in the Bird of Pay Stakes at Northlands on Sept 2.

Thank you for that, Dave C. :D

OMG, a stakes race for her second start? I hope they aren't pushing her too hard. I understand the trainer is Greg Tracy and that he's a good trainer? Anyone know about him?

Much thanks,
Laurie

Greg Tracy has a very good record for getting high performances out of his two year olds. He makes money for his owners with their horses and moves on. I am not a big fan of the way he trains but I do respect his ability to get the most out of his young horses. Interpret this as you will.

Thanks for the info, Dave C.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for this one. I've been waiting for her to hit the track for a long time.

For those who couldn't get to a simulcast center showing Northlands Park, she ran 5th. She was sitting a couple lengths off the pace for the first 5f, was sitting perfectly, when she needed to kick on she flattened out, and tired coming down the lane. Sorry Zialand but it looks like she only has a good 5f or 5.5f in her right now. Either she has distance limitations or her right front ankle is already starting to bother her. She ran similarly running 4th in the Princess Margaret Stakes in early August. That was only a 6f race so she was still close at the wire (beaten only 1 3/4 lengths for first).

Thanks for the info, Dave C.

The other one we're watching, River's Prayer, got bumped at the start and lost her jockey in a $100K stakes. Just one of those things.

We were hoping these two might add a little something to our filly's catalog page, but alas, not in time for this sale. :?
