General John B. Returns
General John B. was injured last winter and is now back in training, Roger Stein trains.

Wasn't this the horse Jon Court was trying to use as his Kentucky Derby 'in' before the horse's injury? I remember the special on tv following jockeys like Mike Smith just happened to catch the Derby winner from all the stories. I did end up feeling for Court cuz he was trying so hard and really liked the horse (i.e. didn't seem like he was just blowing smoke up the trainer's rear end cuz a mount is better than no mount at all).

At $3,500 Sweetsouthernsaint has to be the best value in the US. Not only is SSS the sire of General John B who was narrowly beaten in the GI Santa Anita Derby, he is also the sire of many other top stake performers including Sweetnorthernsaint who won the Illinois derby in dominate fashion and was second to Bernardini in the Preakness. I'll venture to guess he won't be $3,500 next year... and he may be in Kentucky as well.
