noddin'

Gonna make things interesting. 3yo is a lock. It's going to be hard for a lot of voters to ignore Lava Man's 4 G1s at 10f including one on the grass and if he'd run any kind of credible race, he might've still locked up Older Horse... tanking it like he did and Invasor winning with guts, LM's going to be up against it.

If anything, Lava Man will win California's Horse of the Year.

I'll have to dwell on who should get it nationally.

Bernardini will be 3 year old champ, but not HOY.

I don't personally agree, but some people do think he would've been the best horse, so I'm putting in an option for that. I know that he hasn't proven anything, but I'm just catering to peoples' opinions: no need to insult the poll.

Then you should have put up "Other." HOY is presented to those with a PROVEN record, not for 'potential'. Discreet Cat MAY be a very good horse, but his record is pathetic and anyone arguing for his inclusion in HOY voting against horses with records like Bernardini, Invasor and Lava Man is an idiot.

Oh I think DC's got more innate talent but he's got the fragility of a porcelain doll as a 3yo and I think I'd have to be stoned to give him HOY. Invasor. No other way. Can't give it to Lava Man...he folded at the wrong time. California HOY sure.
