Did you miss out? I didn't! Steak and Lasagna Tonight

Postby George William Smith » Sun Nov 19, 2006 9:01 pm

I posted today's card at Churchill and my GSV2 picks on my website on the 'Race of the Day' link. I posted an unfinished list on this site earlier today but note that only 15 bothered to read the posting. Hopefully, all 15 went to my web site, got the bets and bet them and are now with a stuffed wallet like me.

I am still testing the betting strategy, which is explained on the 'Race of the Day' page so I have been posting the horses that I was going to bet using the highest GSV2 horse in each race. The information is free during the testing period. I need witnesses because anyone can fix results after the fact and claim great results, so pay attention and see if the GSV2 can help you at the races.

I already know the GSV2 will have a very positive effect for breeders and owners as I am swamped with work and testimonials. But that is a good thing for a pedigree analyst that has often lived from meal to meal with Kraft Dinner and Ichiban soup as staples.

Right now the program is killing Churchill, but no guarantee it will hold elsewhere or even Churchill's next card. So have fun and check back often even it is to say 'I told you so if it has a really bad day."

Hopefully, you that are reading this now, read my earlier posting and shared the wealth. Best, George William Smith :D :D

Since you are shamelessly using this site to promote your service, it would be nice to see your selections and suggested wagers beforehand.(on this site)

I did not play the horses on Saturday, and for the record I had pasta and garlic bread for dinner. (sadly, no steak)

So what you are saying is that you are too lazy to go to my site and get my numbers and selections. Okay. I can buy that.

But I'll not make it easy for you by posting them here because you want them here. You want my numbers. Go to my site. Come to my home.

Now on the other hand if you want the GSV numbers removed from this site, I'll be glad to have them taken away as I own them.

However, there may be some others on this list that wish them to stay and that is why they are still available on this site.

Shamelessly. Yep, you are right. Now if you meant that in a negative way, get your facts straight before you engage your written words or they come back to bite you in the butt.

George, your about as shameless promoting your GSV2 and your website as I am promoting my two stallions standing in Louisiana. I use your GSV scores to promote my stallions by comparing their scores to other stallions. I'm glad you keep twicking your formula and getting better and better. Keep up the good work!! :) Could I ask you to give me the GSV2 score for my stallion COUNTER PUNCH by Cozzene.

Thanks,

Counterpunch has a very high GSV2 of 74.03 and interestingly it is balanced extremely on both sides of the pedigree as the male half is contributing 74.91 and the dam's side is contributing 73.14!

I just think you should post your picks on this site if you're going to brag about your handicapping on this site.

I am interested in pedigree handicapping and I think others are too, so the content/discussion would be welcome.

For example, the spread of Polytyrack might present considerable opportunity for pedigree handicapping.

But bragging about picks without posting them first ...

I have the utmost respect for George Smith's work and his integrity. The GSV numbers are just that, they don't change before, or after the race no matter where or when he posts them. Keep up the good work George.

Oh, so he HAS posted picks before races before?
That's what I thought I remembered.
I think the point is that he's providing a service for us, and If he is bragging or indulging in shameless promotion (which had not occurred to me, at least not in those terms), I guess he's a standout because we all know that the racing industry is so Totally Devoid of Ego. Yeah. mhh-hmm.
I appreciate the service, others do too, and if you want to criticize, why don't you send him a PM?

Yes, the above picks were indeed posted.

Although he was 0-for-7, those picks somehow led to his stuffed wallet and steak dinner comments.

Look, if I posted a day's worth of picks on this site and had zero winners, and then I open a new thread asking you all if you ate as well as me that night, bragging about all the money I won, I would expect to be called out for it!

He was selling his Breeders' Cup picks from this bulletin board. I think I am well within my right to engage him on his claims of success. Just as you are free to defend his handicapping system.

Pedigree's spot in the handicapping puzzle is an interesting subject.

I can make lemonade out of lemons. :)

For those following the thread I posted the following at 10:50 am which must
mean that the posting time of 5:50 must be Greenwich Mean time on this list.

"Just finished doing the GSV2 numbers for the first races at Churchill Downs. The GSV2 has been having whopping success this meet, so maybe today it will fail and fail badly but here they are and should be of use in exactas. I'm only giving the highest because I'm taking off to go bet them myself Good luck to everyone who uses them...Please don't fail me now as I get out on that branch.
Race 1: Pretty Alice
Race 2: Rimroc Gold
Race 3: Swept Em
Race 4: Cowboy Hardware
Race 5: T N T Special
Race 6: Flank Drive
Race 7: Sugar Booger

Haven't done the numbers yet but the highest should be Special Interest in the 8th; Student Council in the 9th; and Spanish Lights in the 10th

Good luck"

So if you have looked at the results on my web page you will see that I hit a nice exacta in race three to get me up $23.70 after that race. The GSV2 then failed and by the end of race 7 was down $78.30 overall. Certainly nothing to brag about. So what possibly could be my motive...to get victory by slight of hand judge plain old fudging of figures?

Well, the answer can be found above. I stated as you can see that the highest in race 8 should be "Special Interest". As you can see from my posting on my web site I wrote the following:

Race 8: Bridled Quest, GSV2 = 73.17; Note: Special Interest scratched so changed top GSV2 horse [77.17], +$591.80, Exacta +$234.90, -$11.00 = +$737.40 Winner's GSV2 = 73.17 ALL 7f dirt

Race 9: Student Council, GSV2 = 73.48, -$9 x 3 = -$27.00; trifecta = -$7, -$7, +$111.10 = $70.10 = +$807.50 Winner's GSV2 = 69.90 Optional Claiming, 8f, dirt

Race 10: Spanish Lights, GSV2 = 76.89, -$11 x 3 = -$33.00; trifecta -$18 x 3 = -$54.00 = -$87.00 Winner's GSV2 = 70.03 MSW, 9f turf , +$720.50

With Special Interest's scratch as he was on the also eligibles, Bridled Quest [Unbridled's Song out of a Lyphard mare] became the high GSV2 horse and that is where the steak and lasagna came from as he was a monster hit. As Bill stated elsewhere on this thread, numbers are numbers and do not change the event. The numbers were on my web page leading to the posting of Bridled Quest when Special Interest did not draw in.

But you are right, I did not go back as I did the last numbers and update my post to this list, as I was trying to get to the track to bet them. I still missed the first race, but it turned out to save me money.

I note that the GSV2 failed in races 9 and 10 and the profit level suffered as a result as both Student Council and Spanish Lights did get a chance to race and fail.

For those who have been visiting my site and getting my selections, they will have noted that had the GSV2 been ahead at the seventh race, then the bets would have included trifectas, which my picks would have hit at a huge price, but alas the program was not ahead and no trifecta bets.

Ill-Bred wrote, "Although he was 0-for-7, those picks somehow led to his stuffed wallet and steak dinner comments.

As a researcher and interested in truth, I would have gone to the site that posted the results and claimed steak and lasagna and found out how the heck lemonade was made from 0-7 lemons. But you did not do that.

Right now I am doing numbers for Churchill tomorrow. Maybe I'll get them done in time to post them on this list many not. But if I wanted the numbers the best place to look would be my web sire and the race of the day page.

Good discussion never hurts. Thanks![/b]
