Arlington going Polytrack!!

Postby madelyn » Thu Dec 07, 2006 5:09 pm

HAH! I Knew It Was Just a Matter of Time.

All this year I was refining the bloodlines in my broodmare here and planning matings with a view to artificial surface, since it is VERY likely the foals of 2007 may be faced almost entirely with artificial surface tracks by 2009.

Keeneland, Arlington, Turfway, all the California Tracks, Monmouth, Meadowlands.. where next?

I think it's a good decision for AP, and seems to have been made for good reasons. I liked the statement by management that one breakdown was too many.

As to where next, I don't know, but where not next? I would say some of the small tracks won't be able to afford it, and the Triple Crown tracks will probably resist longest.
