Interesting, but not very informative artice on seven Jocks being banned at Tampa Downs.
I assume it is NOT for suspicion of missing Sunday School.
Of the seven, only Joe Judice and Terry Houghton are familar names to me.
I reckon more will be revealed sooner or later, and I imagine it won't be pretty.

Well, I'm all for following the rules of racing to the letter and throwing the book at offenders, but doesn't it kind of suck that the tracks are using their "private property rights" to deny these guys a way to make a living, and then other racetracks in Florida reciprocate? The jockeys are maintaining that they have not been given a reason. I'm sure that this is true, because as soon as charges are levelled, attorneys will try for injunctions. But it seems darned un-American to take action that makes everyone in racing all atwitter without specific charges. What if six of them are totally guilty of something, and the seventh had nothing to do with it, is only a victim of rumor? How do you get your reputation back?

yeah it kinda does suck that they can just throw you out....but on the flip side....slippery slimey lawyers will weasel there clients on on tech. so i guess you just better keep your nose clean...or get a job in the circus as a midget...you never really know what you have until you lose it.....sadly that happens alot in life.

As soon as I heard that more than a couple riders were barred, I figured it was probably race fixing. It's funny, but when one of my horses runs bad, even when I can see there's a bad ride, I never think race fixing. I just figure it wasn't my day. That's bad, because I've been in this business long enough to know that it happens. I guess I wear rose colored glasses on that issue. We should have a happy face with a dunce cap so I could put it on.
tampa bay downs 7 jockeys susp.
I hate to see anyone wrongly accused, however, the track would have to have something quite substantial to show the condemned the door. TBD's i would imagine would consult their own legal counsel to cover their own A__es, prior to making such a drastic step.

I'm an American and firmly believe in the presumption of innocence, when we're talking about criminal prosecution, but in this case, that's not what we're talking about. I bet they got the goods on these jocks, before they dared to bar so many. In my opinion, if jockeys fix races, they should be barred for life and actually do some jail time, as long as it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
I don't know how many other trainers and owners come on this forum, but anyone who races knows the cost of gallops, feed, vets, jock mount, and bedding. Everything that goes into training a horse. If a jock pulls my horse to let someone else win, he ought to be out of the game.
I know all about "the club" the riders that play along, and how badly the ones who don't are treated. It's a sad commentary, just like the dopers.

the race track is private property.......they can tell you at any time for no reason to take a hike...........one of the few places left in this country that slime ball lawyers cant generate there slime..............guess you can tell i dont hold most of them in high regard........

stealing money is stealing money...dont matter if its ENRON or PIN HEADS jail time is justified if found guilty. also you are sooooooo right about the costs incured by owners..........sometimes you only get one chance......i have video replays of all my horses.past and present...and let me tell ya....when i see something funny i raise hell and call them on the carpet for it. for instance 3x i have changed jocks with 15 min. to post....results..........3 wins......of course in each case i had to pay jock mount for the idiot i booted off. now the trainers dont like this move, but the results speak for themselves........so now the jocks know this bastard will make a stink and raise hell...or better yet screw up any plans for monkey biz.
