Einstein

Did anyone watch the Mervin H. Muniz, Jr Memorial - GII and notice the trip Einstein had? Unbelievable that a horse could get into so much trouble and still find his way to the winner's circle.

Einstein was very good, what a race for him, but so was Cloudy's Knight who hung back a long way and pulled off a great run to gain second. If Ramsey Zimmerman had put him in a better spot he would have won. Naissance Royale did very well in her first competition against the boys. Do you know what happened to King's Drama to cause him to be pulled up?

I just read on the Fair Grounds website that according to Edgar Prado, King's Drama took a couple of bad steps. Prado thought that it was probably not a broken leg, and that hopefully the horse will recover.

Prado didn't have a good day, as his mount in the Louisiana Derby, Soaring By, broke out of the gate before the race started.

Not to take anything away from the thread titleholder Einstein. I watched the race again and he was carried very wide by King's Drama as he pulled up. A great performance to more than double his lifetime earnings.

And what a win today, after all this time.
