some derbys are on the dirt track, some derbys are on turf track. who is giving this decision? kentucky derby is 10F D, turkish gazi derby is 12F T.
and all gazi winners havent good stud life and they wouldnt be able good stallion.

I think to follow tradition, a Derby would be a race restricted to three year olds of at least more than a mile. But any track can call a race a derby. It's not copyrighted.

strike the gold is so important for breeding in Turkey. Because sabirli is strike the gold's son. sabirli won 6F-10F D T races. sabirli won three gr-1, three gr-2, eight gr-3 race in turkey and won one gr-2 race in dubai. strike the gold's sons generally good sprinter and some horses are good at long distances at dirt track( it depends on mares). sri pekan, royal abjar, mountain cat and strike the gold most important stallions in turkey.

this year international turkey races will give big prize money to lucky horse owners. because turkey jockey club wants big horse association in the world.
tjk does organize eight international race in year. but this years prizes more than before race prizes. for example: last year topkapı trophy:
150.000$ this year: 600.000$
topkapı trophy for 3 years old and up thoroughbreds. Weight : 56.5 - 60 kg.
Distance : 1600 meters on the turf in İstanbul Veliefendi Racecourse. Fillies and mares allowed 1.5 kg.
conditions:
#Entry form given above, must be filled out and sent by The Local Jockey Club
#Local Racing Clubs can accept entries of the horses under their Jurisdiction.
#Geldings, certificated Stallions and Broodmares are not accepted.Local Racing Clubs must certify that all contenders are not certificated stallions or broodmares.
#It is compulsary that Riders must fill out the declaration form in Appendix 6 of The International Agreement before they are permitted to ride before the race.
#Prize money will be paid in US ( $ )
#The number of starters is limited to 22 horses. If the number of contenders exceed the limit after the acceptance date , it will be reduced to the limit through elimination by a committee formed by the Jockey Club of Türkiye and the handicappers . The horses thus eliminated will be reimbursed with their declaration fee.
#Any or all contenders will be tested for prohibited substances, according to stewards’ decision.
#Allowed accessories: Blinkers, earmuffs and tongue –tie (Any other special equipment as blinkers, earmuffs, face cover until the start) must be declared at declaration stage
#Owners, riders and trainers are regarded to be familiar with Turkish rules and regulations.
#Any trainer change must be approved and made by Local Racing Clubs and new trainer must have valid trainer license as well.
#Entry, 2 nd Entry and Declaration fees are paid to the Winner
