Slew's Tizzy

Postby geowarrior » Sun May 13, 2007 8:11 pm

Did anyone but me think that Slew's Tizzy did an excellent job in the slop today winning the Lone Star Derby? So seems he can run on sloppy dirt and poly, and there were a couple of good horses in there too - Reporting for Duty and Forty Grams.

Looks like he's going for the Preakness or the Ohio Derby. I have to say I admire his trainer for sticking to his plan for the horse. That was potentially a very bad accident in the Risen Star when Slew's Tizzy clipped heels with Makeithappencaptain and lost his jockey. I think it took a little time for the horse to regain his confidence and the trainer did an excellent job in facilitating that.

I'm so glad to see his success for the sake of his sire Tiznow, a sire that everybody seems ready to toss out because he's not 'precocious' enough.

I saw the Lone Star Derby and thought it a good race!
