Sightseeing

Postby Maven » Sun May 20, 2007 4:17 pm

Sightseeing won the Peter Pan today. His next stop will probably be the Belmont.

This is the exact type of pedigree I like to see in a Belmont starter. Versatile speed/stamina on top and a bottom side full of class and stamina. You have to LOVE anything tail-female to Lady Be Good.

THIS colt is the true stallion prospect of the crop!

By the way, Rok, it must kill you to cheerlead for a Pulpit son, even if it's in the Phipps' colors, huh??!!

i saw this race.. didnt't hink he was going tog et up in time. he waited to the absolute last second to show some kick.. won't have a problem getting the distance, but I still think he is a teir (or two) behind Street Sense/curlin and/or Rags to Riches

But 3 year olds who can run a mile and half at a high leve don't come around often, and you have to point him to the Belmont....

You know, I wouldnt disagree with you but im hoping this was his "Kentucky Derby" ala Curlin. He'll probably be the best bred horse at the distance, unless, and im holding my breath, they run Rags to Riches, who, in my opinion, was a true Derby filly.

Im not sure she would have beaten Street Sense, but she would have been top 3, no questions. She's got an amazing pedigree for the Belmont.

Shug McGaughey said his next stop is the Jim Dandy...which makes him a Travers cinch. When Shug points for a race, he wins it. (Ask Pleasant Home at 30:1).

I still cant believe Pleasant Home was 30-1. She was the only logical choice in my mind. A little bit of pedigree knowledge goes a long way for bettors.

You don't exactly make me tingly all over, either. LOL!

But...a lover of Phipps blood can't be all bad.

We're planning a child, Rudy. We're going to name it "Insano," product of our love.

i was telling people who had no idea who rags to riches was back in Feburary that a filly would probaly not only run, but be one of the favs int he derby this year.. and everyone thought I was silly.. you just don't get horses like that vey often.

my gosh, you know how much she is worth now?

I'd point her to the Belmont... I probably wouldn't waste my time racing her against other fillies anymore because the purses just arne't there, unless it's the Distaff. There might be 3 or 4 MALE horses in the country that can give her a HARD TIME, let alone beat her.

What makes everyone think that Rags To Riches is a better filly than Boca Grande? Shug's first revving her up for the Filly TC, while Rags To Riches looks good beating up on Octave.

Maven...it doesn't bother me that Sightseeing is a Pulpit - Storm Flag Flying was a Storm Cat. Phipps blood can conquer all!!! (except for maybe that Unbridled's Song/Inside Information yearling  )
