Wasn’t the Sacramento fair part of the fair circuit?
Is the Governor’s H. still raced in Sacramento?
What’s going to happen to the Vallejo’s fairgrounds and racing in Solano?
Anyone have a list of the past winners of the stakes & handicap races of the fair circuit tracks?

Sac went full time harness racing a few years ago but now want back in the thoroughbred action.
No thoroughbred racing thus no Governor's Handicap the last few years.
Vallejo transferred one week to Santa Rosa this year and my understanding is they are seriously considering ending live racing in the future. This year's race date transfer was the first step. If racing ends at Vallejo the racetrack portion would be sold to developers.
I would contact the http://www.calfairs.com and see what historical data they might have.

I for one do NOT miss CalExpo whatsoever. It is sheer torture to go to lovely Ferndale and enjoy 68 degree weather and then transfer to 110 degree Sacramento AND have to walk a half mile from the receiving barn to the track. Ugh! Not to mention that my horse almost drowned there in the Great Flood of 1986. Blech.

Slew, regarding your Solano question above-there seems to be a new option currently in discussion. See link below:
