Postby nferro9925 » Fri Aug 24, 2007 2:25 pm

He won't be starting at Saratoga.
Oh my gosh! I am sooooo surprised!

I think the other horses all laugh at him during the morning works.

I haven't been visiting this board for long, so can anyone tell me why you all get such a laugh out of slamming The Green Monkey?

Perhaps it is because he has been rumored to be getting ready to race so OFTEN.. rather like crying "wolf".. and he was so over-hyped and over-priced. What happened to his three year old season?

He is really cute though! (Mind you, you can buy a stable full of really cute horses for less than 17 million.)

actually his human equal in looks would be like a roided up bodybuilder.. there is nothing "cute" about him.

Panty Raid is CUTE

curlin is cute

The green monkey just looks like he going to just get on his hind two and just slap someone

His 5 furlong breeze in 1:00.62 on 08/12 is not bad.

Actually, The Green Monkey is quite small which makes him "cute" to many people. He does NOT look like a roided up body builder. He's barely grown since he was two. 15'1 or 15'2. It's been a few months since i've seen him, but heard nothing else has changed.
Don't be so humble - you are not that great.

Besides, I was actually referring to his face, not his physique.

Yeah the headshot they used at Bloodhorse.com was pretty flashy looking to me. Of course a pretty face didn't do squat for Dollar Bill for instance. Maybe if his price wasn't the result of a p*ssing contest, he'd have raced by now. I'd find it rather hilarious if he managed to accomplish anything of note either on the track or in the shed. It would amuse me highly.

I think it would be great if he accomplished something on the track, and he does have a cute face.

Hi Griff,

If you recall last week, The Green Monkey worked :59 4/5 from the gate. On the same morning, a Pletcher two year old named Cowboy Cal worked :59 flat from the gate.

Cowboy Cal made his debut in Saratoga's 2nd race today - and finished seventh, beaten 11 lengths.

Is it possible that The Green Monkey just isn't much quality?
