There is a documentary debuting at the Tribeca film festival, called "The First Saturday in May." Two brothers picked several horses to follow up to the Derby (including Barbaro). I've been waiting for it to come out! Here's an interview I found with the two brothers:

I really liked what they said at the beginning and the end, that they wanted to make a show about racing that didn't have rich snobs and race-fixing crooks, and that you could take a family of four to the races cheaper than you could to a baseball game.

Now, this is what racing needs. And more of it. This is one of the things I'd been talking about in earlier threads. We need more positive exposure, not all the negative.
For example alot of what is put on this (and other) forums is negative. Imagine if you're a teenager finding this forum and you have an interest in horse racing. Would you want to continue finding out about horse racing? Would this help peak your interest with all the negative comments and no positive comments with solutions. (Real viable solutions, not "he needs to be shot" comments).
Instead of sitting at the computer griping, why not sit at the computer and research ways of making changes and then doing something about it?
I'm hoping this film finds new fans of the sport. I'm hoping it comes to my area, I'm going to go see it and bring my step kids (and their spouses) to try to compell them to see the beauty of the sport of kings.
