don't say I didn't tell ya. Has a late like I haven't seen from a filly since Megahertz. if she can be unblocked in the stretch and the ground is not soft, the race is over.

Is Nashoba's Key BC eligible? If they can hold her together, she's the US's best shot at the BC F/M turf.

better race horse? god no

better late kick.. yeah.. she does. Lady of Venice and megahertz can be 12 back at the stretch and both of them close like a freakin fright train.

in the cash call Lady of Venice was 2 spots from last going in the stretch and won by 2 and a half.

Ouija board has a classic running style.. she likes to be about 4-5 off the lead going into the stretch if that.

see for yourself.. keep your eye on the 7 horse and remember thoose are grade 1 winners she's passing

Without question... and she's on par if not better with the best Europe has to offer from the one's I've seen pointed here.

i don't think so.. she hasn't beat anyone outside of california. you guys are going to start taking this socal theory seriously sooner or later.

the reason I'm high on lady of venice is that not only is she got a late kick.. she's beaten literary, grade 1 winners from across the world, in the cash call mile.

Nashoba's key beat Citronnade, who while improving, was noising out non graded stakes last year at Belmont, ships to SoCal and she's now a grade 1 filly.

she's beating hystericalady, a dirt filly if there ever was one, on poly. look at what Hystericalady did in the Molly pletcher

She's beaten a balance who has fallen completely off the map

I mean I love carla gains... I really do. But this filly is the Bernerdini of 08.

Where is everyone who was hooping about After market.. he "dominated" out in socal.. and got beat by freakin trippi's storm in the Kelso.. another horse who has never won a graded stakes outside of California.

whereas in the cash call mile, nashoba's key blew by KOIUTA, who won the GRADE 1 VICTORY MILE in Japan. Dia de la Novia is a grade 2 winning filly by Sunday Silence who was nosed out of 2 consecitive Grade 1's in japan one last year and one earlier this year. and that's not including price tag, dancing edie, who won a grade 2 last week on the downhill turf and multi grade 1 winning filly precious kitten.

I don't think she wants to go past a mile and an 8th however.. and you can throw the race at Arlington out... I refuse to believe that Royal Highness.. who couldn't hit the board last week in her grade 1, is better tahn Honey Ryder, Citronnade, Lady of Venice, Lahudood and Irridescence.. who beat Oujia Board in a race last year.

I remember that race well, she has a nice turn of foot for sure, but she was running down a very fast pace, 1:09 3/5. You are right about OB's style, she does stay closer to the pace. But I think of closing kick once they hit the turn and head for home. FInal 1/8 to 1/16 of a mile. In my mind i see LoV as getting cranked up farther back. Ouija Board would cruise along, then bam, turn on the jets and see-ya. Last years F&M turf, or the 2006 Prince of Wales (against G1 colts as you know) are probably the best examples.

Ironically, Lady of Venice's best performance as far as closing kick was probably in the GIII Ouija Board Handicap. Made up 3 1/2 lengths to win going away into a slow pace. Seeing her PPs, they are probably pretty even in fact, depending on how you define "closing kick".

You seem to forget that Nashoba's Key has run only seven times and is getting better and better.

I think the F&M turf is more than 9 furlongs, 11 in fact, and Lady of Venice isn't BC nominated, so i doubt that she'll run in the F&M turf.

Nashoba's Key is on my ticket.

Is that the Tiago theory?

As Rok said, this filly just started racing THIS year. Who's the best Euro coming over?

how did I know you were going to ask me that

Yes.. I'm breaking my own rule on Tiago. you happy? however.. in the Kentucky Derby, he was clearly apart of the "2nd tier" of horses.. and I've seen both his races since the belmont.. he's leaps and bounds better than he was the last time he came in 3rd to Rags and Curlin. I'm thinking that that leaps and bounds puts him at the top of the class.

he's more professional, he can sit anywhere you want him to for the most part.. right off the lead as he did in the swaps, or 10 back like he did in the Goodwood. and distance will never be an issue for him.

Yet he's never won outside of Cali and if Nashoba's competition is suspect, his is very much as well.

I'm not saying it isn't.. although I think Awesome Gem is going to win a Grade 1 the first time he steps on real dirt

Then why talk up one and not the other? And for the record, distance will never be a problem with her either.

She's by the great world class turf stallion Silver Hawk (although you'd probably argue he's a good but not world class turf stallion in his day) out of a Caerleon mare, out of a Crystal Palace mare out of a Busted mare...

I should also give some credit to her female family. I believe there's no less than 4 champions or highweighted horses under the first 4 dams. GREAT Euro family.

She didn't start until this year and in 7 starts she has two G1's and two G2's on her resume, as well as a stakes in her third start... lets not forget she's undefeated.

I guess my point to this is, her credentials are better than Tiago's and yet you talk one up like the second coming of Secretariat and show the other one only passing respect.
