Zacharary Kelsey, his fist name is not spelled this way, but pronounced the same. He is very young and is supposed to have ridden at Los Al, Turf paradise and other large tracks.
I REALLY need to know anything you can tell me about him.
We just had a situation occur and I need to have some background in case there is action to be taken.
Has anyone heard of this jockey?

Zack Kelsey also rode at Les Bois Park this past summer.
According to Equibase he had 19 winners from 89 mounts, and over 50% in the money.
Very odd, as I recall him NOT being one of my favourites to see on a horse.
You can check equibase for the leading trainers at Les Bois to see if any of them have anything to say about him
Regards,
Shergar

Zac Kelsey has ridden for me for several years and breaks all of my babies. He is an incredible talent and an amazing person. No matter what track he goes to he does well and is a very humble young man. At his age he has ridden for some of the biggest trainers in the quarterhorse industry and only choses to be in Portland because it is closer to his family than being down south again. He is stick straight; no drinking, no drugs. Until you know someone, it is so inappropriate and judgemental to assume anything about someone you don't know. If you have any questions or comments I urge you to contact me privately.
Irene, he is very rough with the horses. Had my QH lathered and shaking before he even got to the gate for a work. Totally disregarded my trainers instructions.
ever, never, never will he get on my horses again.
Is this the incident where "action may need to be taken". If so how is that possible and what action can you take? Seems to me taking him off your horse(s) is about all the action you can take.

If this "incident" was trully something that bothered you then you should have been the better person and said something to Zac or his agent or even taken it to the stewards in the first place. If you really had a true case to stand on, in which I suspect you don't, then you would have taken a better "action" than posting a blog on the internet. That is a pretty shallow and chicken way of doing things. In this case I have to ask... were you personally there witnessing this? Horses wash out usually for a certain reason and more often than not because something is physically or mentally wrong; sore. If there was an injury sustained then the horse would have had to come from the barn this way and not happened during the work. Hense, this is why the horse was washing out going TO THE GATE. Any trainer or vet on the race track will tell you this. If "injury was feared" he should never have been taken to the gate to work in the first place. Therefore I urge you to look into the true condition of your horse and perhaps your trainer and maybe some "action" should be taken there.

I can see by this and other posts like it that horseracing won't be around much longer. Riders and trainers are regularly castigated in a public forum such as this with no one to defend them.... basically, a modern day witch hunt while wielding hatchets without regard.
When I use a rider or trainer I'm not happy with I get a new one.... never dawned on me to drag them through the manure pile while doing so.. guess the internet has changed racing for the worst, permanently.
On MBs like this racing all to often comes off sounding like Michael Vick on steroids. It's future is ominous at best.
