Maiden Races

Postby bdw0617 » Sat Dec 29, 2007 11:04 pm

Am I wrong or just seeing things, or has every other race across the country the last couple of days and espically tomorrow seem to be a maiden race?

is there a reason for that?

Nobody likes an internet troll, so with the new year approaching why don't you take that opportunity to make a resolution which will relieve everybody here?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

It is the last day of the year and everyone wants to break their maiden before they turn another year older on Jan. 1.

I've heard the addage that the majority of horses out there are either maidens or still in their conditions, and I think again this is the breeding industry wagging tge dog--get everyone a win before the next year, so you either 1) pump up the stallion rankings, or 2) for fillies, send them off to the breeding shed "a winner", which looks better on a catalog page.

But either way, my handicapping these maidens is really stinking it up right now--any thoughts (I know, go to the Handicapping area.......)

Was that a suicide note???
