Zenyatta

Postby Codysmom55 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 8:11 am

Is there a thread about this filly? I apologize in advance if I overlooked it.

Did anyone else see her race in the El Encino on Sunday? What a tremendous filly she appears to be and she is still learning the game.
Great connections to have given her the time to grow up and mature some. She is one to keep an eye on.

A very impressive race and horse. She looks like the real deal and another really good Street Cry as well.

Does anyone know why she was so late to the races? I was talking with some friends about her - she can run!

Street Cry is phenominal. Is there any chance that Tomcito might race in the US in 2008?

She's a very large filly who took a long time to grow into herself. And John Sherrifs is a trainer who's known for being very, very patient with his horses.

I really liked her the other day, she has a nice look to her. Hear she might be back Feb 10th, will look forward to it.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned that she is a half sister to GR1 winning Balance. She has all to tools to be something special.

It was, just not on this thread. BDW mentioned her in this thread a little while ago: http://www.pedigreequery.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17873

She looks like she could be a monster.

that was some performance in the Lady's Secret. Seemed to be up closer to the pace than she normally is, but it was a small field. Her big stride really covers the ground.

She is fantastic! And I doubt they've found the bottom of her yet. Amazing horses this year. How blessed are we!

For Zenyatta fans, Southern California Thoroughbred Rescue is offering a Zenyatta shoe on EBay:

They also have a couple of amateur photos of her:

Zenyatta

Postby erhrdt3 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 9:23 am

First, before I ask this question, let me apologize if it sounds silly, but I'm going to ask it anyway:

Does anyone know why Zenyatta is so huge in stature? Does anyone know anything about her dam? Did she get her size from the sire or dam?
Zenyatta has a similar rear end as Ruffian did when she runs (Oh, no, I am NOT saying Zenyatta is anything like Ruffian, Ruffian would have showed Zenyatta her big black butt if they had raced)

I'm just curious as to why some horses turn out to be giants like this.
My friend in Lexington this past spring had to take her Spec. Bid mare to the equine hospital to get the foal out it was so big! Ouch!!!

Thanks to all, I enjoy reading and learning from all of you :)

same dam as balance and balance isn't that big, at least from what I saw.

has to come from her sire. Street Sense isn't small by any stretch of the imagnation. not HUGE but not small either. Desert party isn't small.

it should be a law that Midnight Lute will have to give one season to Zenyatta to try to breed the biggest race horse to ever live.

Actually, Zenyatta's dam has some good size, being by the nice sized Kris S. Street Cry also has some size on him but not overly big at all.

Balance was more of a product of Thunder Gulch throwing small. Point Given might be the only Thunder Gulch I've seen with a ton of size.
