Hopefully this grand old mare is OK. She has had a tough time her whole broodmare career.

Juddmonte is notorious for not releasing any information. I have inquired several times about Chiselling, and recieve replies that they don't know or are not at liberty to say. I'm sure they do know.

(he never made it to South Africa, and was reportedly sent to a farm near Lex to recover from EPM, but then the trail got cold)

Although the last time we heard from someone here that a lady in the office said, during a tour of the grounds, that she'd passed on, having been pensioned for laminitis last year just makes me think the chances of her death being true are much greater. Before, I emailed Juddmonte myself and asked and they told me that she was very much in fact alive but that was a year ago at least. I don't want them to think I'm a crazy horse stalker so if someone else can email I'd appreciate it.

Try emailing Steve Haskin. If anyone can find out about Chiselling he can.

Ive also e-mail that farm, & they didnt answer my request of mares bred to their stallions for my research project. Bad PR, for the industry.

Chiselling has come down with EPM, his status is unknown.

thanks, but read post #3 above.

I had him tracked to a farm "near Lexington", but my contact disappeared. My last contact in regards to him was in the fall of 2005. As stated, Juddmonte is of no help in issues like this. They own the horses, so I guess they have choice of being informative or not.

Maine Chance Farm in SA was cooperative, but my last contact with them was in Jan 2005. I have lost hope of finding anything out, but maybe i don't want to know.

Hopefully Juddmonte will release information about Toussaud's condition. She sure went through a lot to produce her outstanding progeny.

Thanks. I'm sure many would want to know, one way or another.

Apparently, per an employee of the farm, she is fine and standing in her stall as of this afternoon.

One of these days she's actually going to pass on and we won't believe it.
