Thanks Tuc...just watching that race brought tears to my eyes...I wish I had been there (I was only 4 at the time and not quite into the horses yet)!

I tried to put this year's crop of 3 yr olds into perspective for a friend back in Jersey. He only watches the big races and only because I own a few horses. I told him to click on the You Tube link to this race and I stayed on the phone while he watched. He started out saying it looked like any other race. Then he said "ok, so he's taking the lead". Then all I heard was "Wow- Holy Cow- That's unbelievable."

It was mentioned on NPR this morning that today, June 9, was 35 years since Secretariat's Belmont win. What a great way to celebrate it! What a grand horse he was..........
