Can't wait to see the race and how he breaks from the gate or should I say "strolls" away from the gate. Watching his races always makes me reminisce about some of my old favorites like Iron Gavel, Red Scamper, and Ponche.

I just love that old guy. I too get a laugh each time I see him stroll from the gate. Great old war horse.
He also has his own web site, seems he still has quite a following.
I have a soft spot for the old geldings. The Tin Man,Rochester and
Perfect Drift. They dont make like that anymore.

Wow, that was an awesome race and a treat to watch.

Here's the link to the race if you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82nUJcdbBM

Wow.
And such a long race.

He should have his own suite and palace at KHP someday.

"Heros and Flip Flopping on the Blood Horse Web Site. Just read it

I know they don't want to ship him for the Breeders Cup Marathon and I understand why, but I found it interesting that this was his first win (or first stakes win) outside New York. So he delivers 8.5 lengths and a track record. Given how he acted when he tried to retire before, he seems like an easily bored horse and maybe the new surroundings energised him.

Perhaps Santa Anita wouldn't be such a bad thing for him. But whatever they do, it will in his best interests and he is a CHAMP!
