Mandella announced the retirement - I think it was the right thing to do.

Yea! I hope he goes to Old Friends or KHP. He's indeed a warrior and he's earned his retirement! 8)

His owners have their own property and at least one other retired racer (SW Proven Cure). It's likely he'll go there.

That's lovely for him and admirable of his owners. But it sure would be nice to be able to visit a horse I've admired for years.

TVG were wondering if he did in fact ever win a grade one race. I believe he did, and I think it was the Steven Forster. Can anyone conform that?

Yes - he won it in '03. :) He also placed in eight other G1's.

...and won a multitude of gr. II's and earned over $4.7 million. That equates to a pretty dang good career if you ask me.
