1967 Metropolitan Handicap on Youtube

Buckpasser won.

I was thinking this video was of the race that I was at, which was one of the great ones of my lifetime, but I saw the Suburban, which was run at Aqueduct that year because Belmont was being renovated. Unfortunately the Suburban hasn't made Youtube yet.

Nice link and thanks.

I watched the race and clicked on some of the links to other races, just there to the right of the screen. Nothin' like watchin' the good ol classic days of horseracing . . . kinda wish I was there, 35, 40 and some 50 thousand fans at the races, must have been something special.

Reminded me of trip to NY to watch the 05' Belmont Stakes, Smarty was running for the Triple Crown, was my greatest time at the races. We caught a flight from Seattle, transferred fights but got grounded in Texas, didn't know if we would make it. Caught a connector, got to NY like 3am, made it to the Belmont that morning at 8, got there early, got a good seat, made some good friends w/NY racing fans and was one of 120,000 fans watching Smarty run for greatness. I was a part of it and it was special ...

Thanks again for the link.
