Best 3yo colt?

Postby Heidilady » Sat May 16, 2009 7:00 pm

Well Rachel Alexandra's obviously the top 3yo filly or probably of all 3yos this year so far, although Mine That Bird's obviously getting somewhere with his new style of running. He gets top 3yo gelding. That does leave us with a question. Ironically the "showcase for future stallions" that supposedly was the Triple Crown series, has been won by a gelding and filly so far. Who's the top 3yo colt? The others who might throw their hat in the ring seem to be injured at the moment. Any thoughts or predictions on the top colt for the year's identity?

Any chance he can make the Belmont? I couldn't remember what they said. Obviously I Want Revenge is worse than they originally thought, but I haven't seen him retired yet.

i would put the chances between slim and none and it's last call for slim.

I'd think the jim dandy then the travers is the logical move for him.

he's too nice a colt to rush back

Yeah I couldn't remember how bad his feet got. Jimmy's a chip off the old block. QR won't go if he's not absolutely ready.

No predictions from me, but if everyone stays healthy, and I pray they do, Saratoga is going to be a blast!

the travers is going to be the 3YO race of the year, with or without rachael. mark my word. Dunkirk, quality road, MTB v2.0 (lol), a resh papa clem,c haritable man, etc should all be there.

Well the year isnt over yet. We still have alot of races to run. Who knows maybe the Breeders cup would help with the determination, like it always does.

Musket Man may be the man in the mile to a mile and an eighth races. Keeps suprising and has never run a bad race.

right now I'd go

sprinting=captian candyman can or hull. probably capt candyman can. he's tough

a miler= I think the pompelmoose would make a tough, tough miler if he took to dirt. and yes musket man. I could see Papa Clem being a good miler as well.

anything over a mile and a 16th Id go with quality road.

you know. musket man is so... I don't know the word. he blends in. I am never able to find him in a race, and whenever they cross the wire.. eh's always there. I dont' know if he is a stalker or a deep closer. I just know he gets checks.

MTB may or may not be in Belmont..but If he will face seniors and win Breeders Cup Classic he will be horse of the year...before that..Travers (10f) as a
prep race fits him well...like father like son.
