Pentecost
Justified Belief
Auspiciada
Drama Girl
Prairie Township
Bippityboppityboop
Dulce d'Oro
Fleet Skipper
Finishline Lizard

These are all 2006 born foals. Yet to start, most yet to have a published workout. Google yields no clues. Exported? Injured? Deceased? Riding horses?
Thanks!

I belive only around 50% of Thoroughbred foals ever start a race.

I selected these as September yearlings or early 2YOs, and so far 86% of them have made it to the workout stage, 78% to the races.
I have heard nothing about these listed above, though. Often this means an exported horse, but I've found no info.

Pentecost was a $450K yearling; surely SOMEONE knows where he is?
Thanks

Are "these" horses differient from the ones listed above?/

I think what Toccet means is they selected a large list of horses to follow through their careers. Of that list, a certain percentage has made it in their training. The list above of the particular horses have not been heard from since the sale.

Did you check to see if the name was changed on any of these horses? Sometimes if you look up the dam on Pedigree Query and look at the year of birth you will see a different name or more than one name.

thanks--helpful suggestion. I know that's rare (name change) but it's worth a shot.

OK---Finishline Lizard was renamed Vickie Vee.
What's interesting is that Equibase virtual stable started giving me updates about VV, but of course I didn't recognize the name, AND that name didn't show up in my stable, so I thought they were giving me screwy results again.

I will happily change the database here...but is there a proper way to do this?

I would also like to know the proper way to do it. From the point of view of a user, it is nice to have both names in the database, each with a cross reference to the other name in the comment section, so if you search on either name you will find the other.

The correct way to do it is to add the new name, remove all additional info from the old name (or transfer it to the new one), then delete the old name.

Putting something like "Formerly named 'Old So-N-So'" in the comments field for the new name is very helpful. :)

Please do not leave both entries, as every time a mare is credited with two foals in the same year, it adds yet another error message to an already lengthy list of database duplicates (the list is already bogged down with legitimate twins).

Oh--and Vickie Vee is no longer an unstated 3YO..raced three times, one second, one third. Bottom level claimer, but at least she's hefted my ITM % up again in ye olde virtual stable. She cost only $2,000.

Toccet, just curious, how are you measuring success with the yearlings you picked? Number of winners? Breaking even with earnings?
