Will Sea The Stars Run In The BC Mile or Classic?
The entries have just been published for the G-1 QEII at Ascot over a mile on September 26th and Sea the Stars is a surprise entry along with a slew of other milers (BC Mile winner, Goldikova, Ghanaati, winner of the 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes, Prix Jean Prat scorer Lord Shanakill, Queen Anne Stakes victor Paco Boy, Lockinge winner Virtual, the French-trained Naaqoos, Mastercraftsman, Rip Van Winkle (who was runner-up to Sea The Stars in the Eclipse at Sandown earlier this month), South African ace sprinter J J The Jet Plane and German challenger Irian.)
What a mouth watering prospect that is if they all run!!
Does this mean Oxx is pointing Sea the Stars to the BC Mile or the Classic?

See The Stars was not running in Man O'War for 3yo+...that was a bit surprised..Now he should choose btw BC Turf and the Arc
both are 12f for 3yo and above.
If it takes part in BC Classfic..it would be a huge mistake..just like Aidan O'Brien who sent Galileo to race in this event and got
humiliated in 2000.

I don't agree. He has won at 1m, 1 1/2m and then back in distance to 1 1/4m and is now sheduled to run in the QEII at 1m on September 26. His connections have already said he is NOT going to run in the Arc. Just like for last year's 1-2 finishers in both the QEII and the BC Classic, Raven's Pass and Henrythenavigator, the September 26 1m race would be a perfect setup race for the 1 1/4m BC Classic
What is more, being by Elusive Quality, he should handle the SA synthetic surface even better than last year's 1-2.

Sea the Stars will not run in the QEII.
I would also not count him out of the Arc, if the ground comes up right, they may well be tempted to go. The only thing definite right now is that he will run in the Irish Champion Stakes in early Sept, with a likely primer in the Juddmonte Intl at York.
If he comes stateside to SA, he will run in the Classic not the Mile nor the Turf, and at this point it would be hard to bet against him in that race.
Btw he is by Cape Cross, not EQ.

THE Racing Post said again today that he is being kept to 1 1/4 miles for the rest of the season, which pretty much rules out an Arc run and seems to me to point to a tilt at the BC Classic..
Why do you say he won't run in the QEII?

On Tuesday Sea The Stars won the $980,520 Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-G1 - 1 1⁄4 miles and 80 yards) at York in a course-record 2:05.29 on good to firm ground.
Ground conditions will be a major factor in his schedule for the rest of the year, including a bid to match his dam, Urban Sea, by winning the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) at Longchamp.
His trainer John Oxx said last week that a start in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, perhaps in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), could come into play if the weather disrupts Sea The Stars’ options in Europe.

How is he following the exact same path as Henry and Raven's? He has been campaigned at 1m ->12f -> 10f-> 10f-> with his next race, The Irish Champion at 10f.
Both of the horses you mentioned ran at a mile all year up to the Classic.
Henry : Guineas 1m->Irish Guineas 1m -> St James 1m -> Sussex 1m -> Moulin 1m -> QEII 1m
Ravens : Guineas 1m -> St James 1m -> Jean Prat 1m -> Sussex 1m -> Celebration 1m -> QEII 1m
Completely different campaigns altogether.
IF the ground comes up right he will run at Longchamp. Odds are the ground will soft, it often does. If he comes stateside he will almost definitely run in the Classic. There is no point in running him in either the Mile or the Turf.

My feeling is Sea The Stars might not race against the group of european turf barons in BC turf : Irish Derby winner, Fame & Game
is stated as 9/4favorite...reigning champion of this event, Conduit, is the 3-1 second favourite. Up and coming Gio Ponti, also a leading
home contender, is the close next at 9/2. French raiders Stacelita and Vision D'Etat are 7-1 and 8-1 respectively. Dual Oaks winner
Sariska is 20-1.
Difficult to call..Prefer Conduit..if his recent score in the 12f Queen & King Diamond presents a reliable credential.
Sea The Stars chance of running in (and winning)The Arc is high...if its trip to Santa Anita on Nov 7 will not happen.
