the only thing costing a triple crown this year was the orignial owners deicison to bypass the "stallion maker races" and opt for the oaks. she's a woman upon boys.
I have seen greatness.
I'm going to also go out on the limb... I think she is in the breeders cup this year. she's just too good.

Jackson is dead set against sending her to California for the BC.
I say the Travers should be next, but let Rachel decide! I am converted to being a fan. I do like Zenyatta as well, as older mare. I feel like a kid again, back in 1978, rooting for both Alydar and Affirmed.

But at this point, what would the Travers prove? If she wins, people will just say that she beat the same 'poor' crop of 3-yr-olds. In my mind, the next step is either the Personal Ensign or the Woodward.
The Personal Ensign would give her a race against older mares and would give her a chance to try 1 1/4 before taking on the boys at that distance.
The Woodward would give her a race against older males while letting her stay at her favorite distance, 1 1/8.
Either one would be an ideal prep for the Jockey Club Gold Cup-- 1 1/4 against older males, which I think is an essential distance/company for a horse to win Horse of the Year honors. Not saying that she won't get HOTY without a race against open company at the classic distance, but it is the pinnacle of American racing, and to put all the naysayers to rest, she needs to prove she can do it.

JCGC at Belmont before they put her away for the winter or another G1 and hope they'll ship Zenyatta east... if she'd even tolerate that. She just loves to run so how to you tell a horse that wants to do that to just chill? The last interview with Shireff's he said no to Saratoga but did not say no to Belmont in the fall.

Watching that race today, wow, I am soo impressed. I liked her before, but I like her even better now. I would love to see her in the BC. Cross your fingers folks. What a race that would be. If all else fails, I will bring her home to my barn--just in case no one else wants her!!
Yeah, I know, wishful thinking!

I was just contemplating the cost of my 2-year-olds in training, still many weeks away from their first starts. Then I watch Rachel's race, and I remember why I am doing this. She just sent chills down my soul. BDW is right, all hail the princess. I also love Zenyatta, and I almost wouldn't want them to race each other because right now the fairy tale aura they both have is just so special.

At this moment, I have to wonder if Zenyatta isn't as good as this filly. I dunno.

I should know this, but I don't....is there anything big left in Dubai for her to run in this year?
She beat up some nice colts....ANY of which I'd gladly let move in with me in Cedar Creek, Texas!
This is the best filly I personally can remember watching. I mean, she doesn't even mess with photo finishes, and clinching your chest what's she gonna do. She DOMINATES her competition. She's a sensational horse.
I'm happy for Calvin Borel also! He takes a lot of flack as not being a good rider, or not being at the next level, well he rides the hair off of this filly!
This mare was so dominating I think that Mr. and Mrs. Moss look real good keeping their wonderful mare just as far away from Ms. Alexandra as they can possibly get! If I were them, I'd stay in California, make my money and let everyone talk about what could have been! There is NO way I would run Z against RA, not right now! This filly is on her A game without a doubt!
I hope she can keep her game up, and stick around.
The racing world has been really looking for a super filly who could beat up on the boys, we had the Pletcher filly a couple of years back (rags to riches) But Curlin and the Belmont proved to be her undoing. This filly on one coast, and Z on another....This is GREAT for our sport!

I think she'll go in the Travers and then call it a year unless Zenyatta agrees to meet her on dirt which I doubt because they know she'd lose her first race. I wouldn't blame JJ at all for putting her away for the year after the Travers as HOY would be wrapped up and she hasn't ever really had a break. That would leave this magical season intact for the ages no matter what happens next year. Just don't want to see her lose from having such a long campaign.
