Extra US$ 1,000,000 To Winner In BC Classic If Z and RA Run

Postby wangkw » Fri Sep 11, 2009 10:02 pm

To make it more exhilarating, this year's top race BC Classic will be bumped an additional one Million to reward the horse which will
win it ..with one condition attached though..that both the filly sensations Zenyatta and Rachel Alexendra wll race together on Nov 7
in that SA event. (amended..tks).

If I were JJ I would rest RA and not risk the poison pill..judging by her recent run in the Woodwards I have every reason to believe
our 3yo beauty wont make it..It is not so much I fear Zenyatta ..she wont make it too..the field is likely to be very strong this time
round..1st of all Well Armed, the DWC victor, is fresh. Then Summer Bird, the Travers Stakes victor, has thrived on stamina test in
the excruciating triple crown classic in July. Next, Mine That Bird, the Kentucky Derby victor, which is still deadly and not to be fooled
by his smoke screen 3rd in the G2 West Virginia Derby..also not to be ruled out is Quality Road if it will be among starters. Macho
Again will surely appreciate a trip longer than the Woodwards.

And last but not least, these few relentless fighters and G1 accomplishers Rail Trip, Einstein and Richard's Kid. This sugar-coated
Classic can cost the 2 ladies their racing career without winning it. You think such entreaties with crisp greenbacks will work ? I
sincerely doubt it and I hope not.

Don't anyone hold their breath. I don't know what the Mosses will do, but I don't think $10 million would tempt Jess Jackson to send Rachel Alexandra to the BC Classic. After watching Curlin struggle last year, he is adamant about not racing on synthetics. Period.

So the Breeders Cup classic is worthless now if Zenyatta and RA don't take part?

How to degrade a race to zero value by adding $1m to the purse.
