The race to draw Rachel and Zenyatta to Sam Houston Race Park. Anyone think it's going to happen?

hi guys

As far as I'm concerned...the biggest question yet unanswered is whether or not Rachel Alexandra can handle a mile and a quarter versus TOP wide open company. We know Zenyatta can...

...after all, she crushed/outclassed the competition in the mile and a quarter $5mil G1-BC Classic 2009.

Seems to me the BIG girls, Z and RA, deserve the biggest stage (and arguably that's not Sam Houston), the biggest money ($2mil for starters isn't bad) and the classic N American distance...a mile and a quarter.

Those ingredients could set the tone for an event for the ages...so why not circle something on the calendar that both can aim for and best prepare to deliver lifetime best efforts...at a mile and a quarter. Hmmm...doesn't that sound like the BC Classic?

Oh well...gotta tip my hat to McIngvale for trying.

FOS it does sound like the BC Classic but there is no way I can wait that long and a million things could happen to where they both don't even make the race. We need to start settling this ASAP. By the way I love these gals but if I was betting right now, I'd say neither will win the BC Classic in 2010....is there a future book for that?

A part of me thinks that Rachel won't race this year and will be retired. Call me cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if she is retired before she sees a starting gate.

Zenyatta beat a top class field...But, NONE OF WHOM ARE SYNTHETIC HORSES. Aside from beating Einstein who obviously had his issues and Richard's Kid, Zenyatta's win does absolutely nothing for me. Everybody else were out of their element trying to beat a horses who loves the surface. Until she does it on dirt v. a field that isn't stacked with dirt or turf horses your tired argument is meaningless.
