Hi
The lower the number, the more percieved stamina. Of the 20 past winners of the BC Classic, 14 winners had a Stamina Index of .80 or lower, only 1 had a stamina number over 1.00 (that being Awesome Again, who is emerging as a stallion that can transmit stamina despite his relatively high number of 1.15). 17 winners had a stamina number under .90, and only 3 (Awesome Again, Cat Thief, and Concern) had an Index over .90.
The Index has nothing to do with athletic talent or a pace scenerio that might affect the outcome of the race, it's just an attempt to evaluate particular influences, based on my research into the female family contributions within a pedigree.
Hope this helps.
